Ask for the public business name and current credential information the provider says applies. Use an official source to verify it, then compare the name with the written estimate.
Ask who will arrive
Find out whether employees or subcontractors may perform the work and who remains responsible for the scope, insurance, and completion documents.
Save the file
Keep the estimate, approved changes, receipts, measurements, and completion notes together. Written records are easier to review than a verbal summary.
